Chuck Tingle's gimmick has worked beautifully. The covers of his books are scattered across the comedy boards of the internet.
So what was I expecting?
The joke is that Nonexistent Thing has ridiculous gay sex with the human protagonist, written 100% straight. The problem is actually reading these things reveals they were obviously written in a single afternoon. Suddenly the joke---that this is written as serious erotic fiction---falls apart. I certainly didn't want poetry, but at least a pinch of effort would have been nice.
Just as much entertainment can be had reading the average fanfiction you stumble across on DeviantArt or Fanfiction (dot) net. However, those works aren't cynical cash grabs.
If you're really curious about the innards of this book take a title, and write your own story erotic story in the space of two hours. The result will be exactly the same. (Or much better if you inject any sincerity at all.)
Otherwise you'll be paying money for what amounts to "his big gay plane c***." That's it. That's as creative and humorous as it gets.
